I am very disappointed in this TINY book.....The description didn't make it clear that this is all prose and nothing more. It is a very small format and there are NO paintings.... Too much money for 96 tiny pages with none of his paintings. I will return it.

In what was a great disappointment, I discovered that the 2013 Unicorn Press re-print of this excellent book does *not* include the plates of Churchill's paintings. All of the used editions I've seen include those plates in color.

Other people have commented on the lack of plates, it's true, sadly they didn't include them, it would have been a terrific book with that. That aside, the way Churchill waxes on the hidden benefits that come from painting, especially in oils, makes for a very inspiring read. He started at age 40, a late bloomer he admits. I was intrigued by all the things he was able to see that came from creating art. I won't spoil things by revealing his insights in his short easy to read book, but it has a very inspiring effect and will make you want to go pick up a brush or pencil, and without being timid in doing so..I will re-read this book again when I am needing encouragement, such positive thoughts are in it, he makes very good points!

I watched an interview with former President George W. Bush saying how this essay made him realize he wanted to paint. As an illustrator my whole life, I hadn’t considered painting until recently. I read this book and it inspired me much as it did the former president! I loved it. It was an easy read as it’s more of an essay than a book and it was shipped to me quickly which I loved.

This is the edition which is illustrated with images of Churchill's paintings. its a small book filled with inspiration for the beginning painter and its a keeper in my art library. I'm a late bloomer in the field of visual representational art as was Churchill and its delight full to find that he also began painting to express creativity and to be in the moment. For him to escape the cares of government, for me, to transcend an ordinary life.

The amazon description did not make it clear this book is text only. There are no photos of Churchills paintings in this book. Total disappointment when I discovered that fact after receiving the book. I am really irked at Amazon for not making this clear before I pushed the order button

In this little volume, just a few thousands words, Churchill makes his case for why one should take up painting as a pastime or hobby. Mainly, he say, it helps you to see better, to see, for example, that a tree is not green, but a hundred or a thousand shades of green and other colors. In Churchill's case, he started painting in oils in his 40s and then became more serious about it after his retirement, or semi-retirement, from public life.Did Churchill convince me to try it. I'm not sure. I'm thinking about it, though.

This is such a fascinating book. I picked up a copy at a lending library and was amazed to learn that Churchill had taken up painting as a hobby and that it became one of the main passions of his life. Painting changed the way he looked at things - nature and art. It gave him absolute joy as he increased his ability to capture light and images. I wanted to share the book with one of my friends so I ordered this copy and was very pleased that it was a good price, in good condition including having the 18 colour plates and it arrived within days. I highly recommend this marvelous true story.

I actually liked this collection better than the first Terminator Omnibus.The stories in here give a much more introspective look at the machines and you learn a lot more about how the think and work together (and against each other). The twist in Death Valley probably makes it the deepest Terminator story that I have read. You also get to see John Connor in a real leadership role, instead of the whiny "why was I chosen to lead, I'm not a soldier?" dork from the movies and TV show.There is a lot of variance in the artwork too (all good, just different), so you can really appreciate all the different talent. The writing is great too (as expected from Dark Horse).

Another fantastic omnibus collection! I don't know what I'd do without these. This collection is a fantastic value and the material is top notch IMHO.Anyway, I give the Terminator vol 2 omnibus 5 stars, my highest recommendation for content, and for value.Highly recommended!

Great read.

Excellent collection of related stories. I especially like the one where Jon Norden holds a grudge against John Connor because Terminators in th epast killed his parents thinking they were Sarah and John Connor. This same story includes the discovery of more advanced Terminators disquised as rats.

i think that DH did a much better job with the Predator stories than the Terminator ones. How many times can Skynet send a terminator back through time? How many times can the resistance do it? It would have been better to do (as T3 should have been) the future war. The stories are just too repetitive, and left me bored. The artwork also varies. Just not really a great series.

About the Author

CHARLOTTE S. SNEAD holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Duke University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina. OakTara published her first three books: His Brother’s Wife, in 2012, and Recovered and Free and Invisible Wounds, in 2014. This book took me all over the emotional map. From curious at the beginning, to happy and then anxious in the middle, to more emotions than I can accurately describe as the story progressed. Gabe, Joy, and Brian are such a remarkable trio- and there really is no reason, and no point to trying to separate one or two from other[s]. The band mates, Joy's family, and their surrounding community just make this novel a deep, rich story, which I honestly didn't want to put down- seriously, I stayed up til quarter after 2 AM to finish it!I was provided a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, and I have left an honest review.

This covers a lot of territory. It has a beautiful girl, handsome man, an disabled y,young man, a killer bear, and a great playing band. It will you keepminterest all thru the book.This is a romantic Christian book, with some twists and turns. I loved it, and I couldn't put it down.

I truly enjoyed this book! I have read several of Charlotte Snead’s books, but this was one of my favorites! It was masterfully written and I fell in love with all of the characters. The plot captivated me and I could not put the book down! Three cheers for Charlotte Snead and “Winslow Farm!”

ummary: Shepard is a brutal Warlord with a hidden agenda. Claire is hungry and exhausted from a prolonged assult on her home when she begs an audience with Shephard, a man who is used to having everything he wants, and he wants Claire.This author clearly loves over of my favorite books, The Silver Devil because ever since Dominico I don't think I've read such a truly intense and powerful hero. He is not one of your run of the mill sadistic leads who ties you up and spanks you for sport. No, He is demonsdemtably clever, plotting, scheming and accomplishing his twisted agenda and will do anything, anything at all for his morally incorruptable, idealistic and innocent heroine. Gosh I love Claire, she is no push over and let's her ruthless Warlord get away with Nothing.And having read book 2 let me tell you that you will not be disappointed where this trilogy(?) Is going.I'm a massive fan, thank Ms Cain.

I thought I was going to love this series, but no. Do not read this series if you hate cliffhangers, if you expect an HEA at the end the series, if you expect to even know what the heck really happened after three books, if you don't like infidelity in your books. Be warned, this series is NOT a romance. Addison Cain grabs you. It's easy to become invested in the story because she is THAT good. But she will leave you hanging. There is no HEA. Not sure she's that type of author. And that's fine if you like that kind of read. Not me. And I really hate that because I could become addicted to her books.

I have been a fan of Addison and this story ever since reading chapters as she developed this story and I was so excited to see this come out as a book, and see her actively writing more stories. She had a gift for crafting unique worlds that mirror our own, so it's easy to imagine them. The alternate humanity is fun and I just want to drink up every facet of this world she's made. That said, I love the dynamic between Claire and Shepherd, fighting instincts and physical demands,mentally still too immature for the depth of what's happening to them. Shepherd has to learn not everything goes according to plan and Claire is learning the world is so many shades of grey... I even love the dark, gritty nature of their intimacy. It's just a wonderfully, engrossing piece of dystopian fun.

This novel wound up delivering a much richer reading experience than I expected. It was very thought-provoking and believable dystopian speculation. The violence and sex were explicit without stooping to gratuitous blood and smut. At the onset of the story I immediately bonded with Claire, her cause, and her point of view. I saw Sheperd as little more than a manipulative brute who maximized his control over the captive Claire through isolation, terror, and exploitation of her innate instinctual drives. Against her will, Sheperd forces an irrevocable mating bond on Claire that can only be severed by the death of one of them. However, all is not as it seems to be. Everyone and everything is both more and less than what is initially evident. Sheperd has wrested power from the ruling faction by military coup. The troops that he leads are mainly those who were wrongly imprisoned by the former corrupt regime. Their loyalty to him and each other, as well as dedication to their cause, is to the death as is Sheperd's. This is the invincible force that Claire must circumvent in order to save the people and the city she loves. But do they love her? Do they want to be saved? Are they worthy of redemption? Battle lines are drawn and crossed. Lives are lost and found. Some hearts break and others blossom. Society as Claire knew it rots from within and those not brutalized are abandoned. Sheperd struggles to force Claire into accepting the realities of life and to take her position under his protection. Claire struggles to break free. All the while an insidious and pathological evil just waits for the right time to strike everyone down. This is truly a heartbreaking tale. The fragile seeds of hope that are sewn get ploughed up before they even get a chance to germinate. While tears are still wet on the cheeks the author skillfully weaves her story around to offer the reader a final, poignant tendril of "Maybe..."

Addison.l Cain creates an dangerous alternative word where Alphas claim there Omegas and the fight to survive is real. Shepard is the dark Alpha in a time where just like food and water Omegas are rare. Claire has fought for independence both from being claimed by an Alpha and her own dark desires her entire life. When these two strong characters collide sparks are inevitable. You won't be able to stop turning pages as mystery, betrayal, and super hot sex unfolds. An AMAZING book by a very talented dark romance author.

This was a solid solid read. I wasn't even planning on starting it yet but something drew me to it. And then once I started it, it was over. I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one sitting. Claire was fantastic and so strong and Shepherd was just so HOT as Alpha. Together they were on FIRE! But that ending and even the last 25%. Good Lord. I was devastated for Claire and wanted to hurt Shepherd. WHY?????!? NOTHING JUSTIFIES WHAT YOU DID!! Gah. Clearly I have yet to control my emotions lol. ~RatulaGAH This author is amazing. Look how invested I am. This book is insanely good! BUY IT!

I just want to say that I already have the 2nd part and can't wait to read it. I was getting tired of Claire's refusal of Sheppard to be honest, but now I get the oddness with the bond issue. It's that asvana women. However, I think he wants claire due to the claiming. Somethings up with Sheppard, just don't know what it is yet. My review to be continued in the next book.
