I love a good cookbook! Some you fix only one or two recipes from the book and wonder if it is worth the shelf space. This is worth prime cookbook local! I have made 5 recipes from this book and all turned out either very good or excellent.The chicken, mushroom and rice soup is like a dessert- so good and the BBQ chicken with cornbread crust I made today will be thoroughly enjoyed by a very selective teen daughter. I have found Southern Living recipes to be consistently reliable. The ingredients are family friendly and the recipes don't have 7 different steps. I wont say these are light recipes but I think they modify well. The Chicken Spinach lasanga was very good- and fattening. I did add extra vegetables to justify! I just ordered it for my sister because I keep talking about what I am cooking. Love Amazon Prime free shipping.

I bought this book for my son and daughter in law awhile back. They invited me over for my birthday last week and the entree was delicious (Creamy Chicken and Polenta Casserole). I asked them where they got the recipe and they told me it was from this recipe book I gave them. They said they've tried several of the recipes and they have all been good. I have owned this cookbook for years, and just bought another as a present it is so good. So many AWESOME recipes, and we have not been disappointed with the 10 we have tried so far. It also contains recipes for side dishes to serve with the main chicken dish. Also gives hints and suggestions for each recipe. The best part of the recipes is that they are not complicated and usually contain ingredients most people already own. And even if you have to buy a new spice, it is something that can be used on multiple recipes or even with other dishes.

I really like this book. Somehow, I've misplaced my previous copy...so I bought another.Handful of really, really good recipes that are quick...assuming that you shred the rotisserie chicken previously. I usually do this step a few days in advance and leave the shredded chicken in the freezer. Everything tastes homemade. Kids love it...as long as I don't make the same recipes too frequently.

Great recipes using an already-cooked rotisserie (or other method) chicken/turkey. Not great for instructions on how to cook (rotis) the bird--these recipes for for the finished bird. Really great recipes of all kinds. I'm not a great cook and this helped me a lot. I do recommend it highly.

I bought several of these books to give as gifts in our MOMS group at church. It is full of quick, easy dinner ideas that busy moms can make with little fuss and all from a rotisserie chicken. Recipes are easily adaptable to personal tastes too.

We just made a pot pie from one of the recipes. Not all of the recipes appeal to me but the ones that do are made often. I like good southern comfort food.

Based on the other reviews I was hesitant to purchase the physical book and I'm glad I listened. It's definitely not worth $50, but I feel okay about it at the Kindle price. Be aware, this book is very short, I was kind of surprised when I reached the end. That being said, it will take me a while to really digest and understand the content so it's good for a reference manual.Based on the concerns other reviewers noted about the photos in the printed book I wanted to mention the photos were very clear in the digital format. That being said, I wish some of the hand drawn diagrams were at a higher resolution.I found the explanation for the different types of joints to be very helpful. I'm pretty new to all this (been trying to build an armature for 3 months now) and despite my online research have not come across any other source that details these various joints and how to build them. It definitely has me thinking about different ways I can tackle some challenges.An additional thing I really wish this included was a generic armature schematic with measurements and the types of joints at each location. Another book I have "Stop Motion: Craft Skills for Model Animation" by Susannah Shaw contains one such diagram, but unfortunately the resolution is too small to be able to read the measurements.The main takeaway I got was the need for more machining equipment if I really want to take this seriously. For now I'm just going to continue with my inaccurate use of a dremel and hand drills.

An informative book for beginners to machining an armature and deals solely with the different types of joints involved with Stop Motion work and why they are chosen. I suggest reading up on machining or have a book dealing with machining on hand in case things get too technical. Overall the author provides insight into the types of materials and ways to help machining easier, especially if the metals are hard or soft. I do wish I had spent the money to get this earlier as the tips on drilling aluminum would have probably saved my drill from burning out.

First I'll state that as a shop manual the information contained within this book is great and indispenable. The author cleary describes the processes and tools needed to build stop motion armatures. What is disappointing is the quality of the book itself. I have a few books for which I have paid fifty dollars for (The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation, Ray Harryhausen: An Animated Life, Industrial Light and Magic: The Art of Special Effects) and I have never had buyers remorse. The same cannot be said here. The cover belies the interior quality. This book is approximately one quarter inch thick with poor quality paper stock which I can only describe as better than a childs coloring book. All of the photographs are black and white. Many are extremely grainy with contrast that is too high and resolution so poor that it is hard to see what is being described accurately (See figures 2-10, 3-4, 3-5, 3-10, 4-9, 4-10, 4-13 as examples). Not what I expected at this price point. The same information also applies to Stop-Motion Puppet Sculpting. I strongly suggest you either buy used or take what I have written into consideration before purchasing new.

This book explains how to machine the most common joints. Detailed instructions accompany shop drawings for each joint type. The author also covers advanced universal joints. The book assumes you have access to a lathe and mill. I believe the author uses Sherline equipment to demonstrate his work. Recommended for anyone who is interested in creating professional-quality armatures and also wants to learn machining basics.

Great intro to building armatures. Goes over the machining in great detail. Awesome for a beginner machinist like myself. Great job.

This book is a little pricey but for what you learn is priceless,myStop-Motion Armature have gone to the next level.As we all know,a good Armature is well over 300 dollars,just for one,So you do the math.

Good book, lots of useful detail unfortunately the photographs are not up to the quality of the information. I would recommend the book with that reservation.

They are nice quality and the idea is fantastic but they are just not specific enough as far as bony landmarks for the origin and insertion of muscles. The very first card I pulled out gave that away really quick. I was studying deep rotators of the hip and six small muscles were all on one card which wouldn't be terrible if they had the specific detail. The insertion for all of them just says "greater trochanter area" which isn't incorrect but my school requires I know the very specific bony landmarks. Sadly, I found this to be true for many of the other cards as well. On a good note the pictures of the muscles are great so I ended up cutting out the pictures and making my own flash cards. Not a complete waste, I suppose.

These flashcards are definitely better than handwriting on index cards all the parts included to memorize muscle origin, insertion, action and nerve innervation. I gave these cards only 4 stars only because the nerve segments arenâ€™t included so I had to write it in with a marker since my teachers for Physical Therapist Assistant School needed me to have that memorized as well.If no cards with nerve segments exist (meaning what nerve root segment the muscle is innervated by a spinal nerve) it wasnâ€™t that big of a deal to write C7-T1 for example on a card. I purchased these cards in 2014 and there may be something better out now but I also thought sticking with Lippert since thatâ€™s also the author of the Kinesiology book we used for my class was worth it. If you know a student studying a medical field this would be a great gift to alleviate the expense of another study tool for them. If I had to buy flashcards again I would try to research for a set that didnâ€™t need me to write any extra notes on them first.

While these flash cards contain the same information as the physical ones, whoever converted them to digital did a lousy job. All the information should be on two sides for each muscle. The name and picture on one, the origin, insertion, etc., on the other. Instead, each one has a third page with the name and copyright information on it, make it harder to use these as flash cards. I'm transferring the information to quizlet to use them like traditional cards. FYI, the Quizlet app is my absolute favorite flash card app

Just got the cards and opened them and they only give you the muscle's origin and insertion along with action and innervation. I already have cards with this information from functional anatomy. I would have thought that these cards would have been on kinesiology's levers, pulleys, biomechanics and things of that nature not the basic anatomy of the muscle's origins, insertions, action and innervations. Do not buy these if you want them for kinesiology. I wish I could return and get my money back!!!

I think my favorite ppart about these flashcards is that they are an older version with the exact same stuff on it. The only difference between these and the new ones are that the newer ones are water proof. But who needs that when you can get them for a much cheaper price. I'm one for savingThe cards themselves have all the basic information you need. The muscles Insertion, origin and nerve innervations. The only real thing missing where the spinal levels of the nerve innervations (our class needed them).The flash cards are very helpfull. They cheat a little because they have a picture on the front of the card and the name of the muscle, so you can kinda guess from the picture where they insert. But other than that It is very helpful

This really, really, really helps with my Kinesiology class. It helps to have a visual of the muscles when studying. It can be difficult keeping up with them because there is no case or binding or anything, the cards are lose, so I keep it together with a hair tie. But other than that, they are very informative and useful.

These are a must if you plan on memorizing all of the muscle origins, insertions, actions and innervations.I do wish that the names of each muscle were on the back of the card as opposed to being on the same side as the data. But this is still one of the best flash card products I've ever seen for memorizing and I derstanding muscles.

I am currently studying to be a Physical Therapist Assistant and these flashcards are life savers! Super helpful and easier to learn than trying to read out of a textbook. Highly recommended for anyone who is in the medical field!

About the Author

John Feinstein is an American sportswriter and commentator. He is a columnist for the Washington Post, an author, is a guest commentator on NPR, and does color commentary for United States Naval Academy football games. He is also a frequent contributor to The Tony Kornheiser Show. During a radio broadcast of the football game between the Naval Academy and Duke University on October 1, 2005, Feinstein blurted an obscenity over-the-air in response to what he perceived to be a bad call on the field. He immediately removed himself from the rest of the broadcast, except to return at the end to apologize on the air. Although he offered his resignation to the Naval Academy, they rejected it because of his contrition and have invited him to continue to participate in future broadcasts. Feinstein was a sports writer for the The Chronicle while enrolled at Duke University, where he graduated in 1977. One of Feinstein's nicknames is "Junior", despite not having the suffix in his name. The name was given by Tony Kornheiser because of the similarities in his temper to John McEnroe. Feinstein sometimes fills in as a guest host on The Jim Rome Show. Rome considers Feinstein to be one of the most intelligent people he's interviewed on the show, and occasionally teases him about an over-the-phone interview that was interrupted by Feinstein's daughter.

Last Dance is a behind the scenes look at the NCAA Final Four. The book is mostly built on reminisces and interviews with coaches, players, and even some announcers about what it's like to get to the Final Four and win a championship.The primary theme of the book is how important getting to a Final Four and winning a National Championship is for the players and coaches. It's something that for many players is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of team that puts its stamp on college basketball history. Whether a marginal player seeing little action or a star player going on to a successful NBA career, a Final Four appearance and a National Championship are lifetime achievements. And the bitter disappoint of losing in the Final Four lasts a lifetime as well.For the most part this book is well written and interesting as we hear from players, coaches, and others involved about their experiences in the Final Four. It paints a well rounded picture of what participants go through during the course of the season, but especially during the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. While Feinstein does not go into great depth on the history of the Final Four, its history is told throughout the book.The one criticism this reader has of the book is it appears to be very Duke and North Carolina centric. While maybe that's because they have been to the Final Four so often, it's a bit off putting to be constantly hearing about these two schools at the expense of others who have made the Final Four. And while hearing different perspectives on the Final Four were interesting, there really wasn't anything new here either.My two favorite sections of the book were about UCLA coach John Wooden and his wife getting a spontaneous standing ovation from the coaches in the lobby at a Final Four and Bill Bradley's thoughts on his Final Four appearance (Bradley was a Princeton and NBA star, later a Senator and presidential candidate).The most interesting philosophical discussion was the impact of the tournament and a Final Four appearance or winning a championship on coaches. Would great coaches like Roy Williams of North Carolina have an incomplete legacy if they never won a championship? Fair or not, the answer is yes, even though the coaches don't like to say it. The pressure to win and win big is just as hot in college basketball as it is in professional sports, and coaches with great talent at big schools feel the heat. The impact of this pressure on coaches was well done in this book.Finally, the hype and hysteria that surround the Final Four today compared to years ago is also interesting to note and how this sea change in attention and hype have affected players and coaches and those gathering for their Final Four appearance is well done.This was definitely a book worth reading if you are a college basketball fan.

As a fan of John Feinstein and college basketball, I was looking forward to this book. Had I been able to find the unabridged version of the audio CD I would have bought it. As the only versions available were abridged, I held my nose and took the plunge. Although the subject matter is very interesting, the abridged version left out so much that I was disappointed in the book.

Interesting view of college basketball and the NCAA tournament.

If you are a college basketball fan and love following the division tournaments and the NCAA tournament, this is a great read. It gives you an inside perspective from coaches, referees and players. The author also gives you some historical references as well. This is an enoyable book and I highly recommend it.

I am typically a big John Feinstein fan and look forward to his books. However, this one is not as engaging as most of his books. There are parts of the book that focus too much on Officials and Tournament Committee Members. I would say that these areas really slowed the book down. When he covers the coaches and the historical aspects of the game the book reconnects. If you are a true college hoop fan you will like it but not love it as some of his other books.

Enjoyed the 'behind the scenes' at the Final Four, as well as the historical perspective on different coaches and teams.

I am a big fan of John. I especially like his golf books. I thought this book got to granular on details that really weren't that interesting. I will still read his future books.

good read, good stories, a bit too long on some chapters where you forget what the chapter was about
