I give this book barely 3* just because I acknowledge the talented writing style of the author. The description of Bobby was the picture of the stereotypical young adult, stubborn, having a dream and pursuing it no matter what. Bobby’s motivation to pursue the not so respectable life of the Brothers of Chaos seemed to emerge out of pure boredom and a romantic dream of life on a bike driving around the country. But he seemed to have absolutely no conscience or autonomous willpower when asked to commit a crime only a few minutes after arriving at the cave of the brotherhood - how can someone brought up in a completely different environment accept without questioning - at least in his mind - the task given to him to show his loyalty. As for the other two characters, they were the caricatures of two drama queens wearing leather, a dysfunctional couple of two men who surely had problems with the law in the past, but who seemed absolutely fine to trust their more personal issues to a complete stranger, who showed up one evening claiming that he wanted to be a brother. The entire story plays during less than 24 hours and the author wants the readers to think that it ends with a HEA. But for me it was just an unbelievable story without any real connection between the characters.
I am a big fan of MC books and although there were parts of this story that were enjoyable the story seemed a bit unrealistic. I understood Bobby's reason for wanting to join the gang but it seemed more like a fantastic dream. Yeah I know it's fiction but after Bobby enters the bar hoping to get up enough courage to meet the Brother's of Chaos I get lost with the time line of the story. I can't tell if the events take place over the period of a week or a month. Bobby is given a task to prove his willingness to become a member which he enthusiastically accepts without any real knowledge of what he's getting into. Again, it read like a fantastic dream from a bored young man who fantasized about running away from home to join a big tough motorcycle gang. Then we meet the other two characters in this story who also seem a bit unrealistic as well. These men are supposed to be tough bikers but right off the bat they are listening to this kid and trusting him with details about their relationship. There's nothing wrong with insta love if you can make me believe it. In this case it seemed rushed.I volunteered to read a ARC for an honest review.
3.5 🌟 starsI was surprised, though not unpleasantly so, that this short novella reserved the passionate clinches for the end and built a story for Bobby, a young man who desperately believes the Brothers of Chaos MC is the one place he can belong. Bobby waxes lyrical and at length about the safe and supportive bond he expects by joining the Club; he seems a bit too confident and articulate for a teenager but he's passionate about his chance to garner acceptance and membership. Of the three main characters, Bobby gets the bulk of the attention and, by the end, seems to take control of things over two of the most senior members of the Club! Jimi and Mal, the other main protagonists, have a sketchy background that could have been explained better. Not realistic, but not badly written and a brief, testosterone-filled, heated fantasy of male bonding and insta-lust.I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
The premise was ridiculous, all his life this dude wants to be in a biker gang? Really? Cause he wants a brotherhood, cause he’s lonely, ever heard of the military, the police, firefighter, etc, no he wants to be a biker. There was no depth in the characters, no real storyline and the story was so short that there was nothing to sink your teeth into.Overall, just plain silly.
Bobby wants nothing more than to be accepted into the Brothers of Chaos Motorcycle Club. He vows to do anything they ask in order to be accepted. Mal isn't convinced but his ex Jimi thinks Bobby has what it takes and gives him a task. Mal, not convinced Bobby is right for the job, follows him and bails him out of trouble. Doing what he was asked has Bobby caught between the 2 powerful men. With their relationship over, they both seem to be going for Bobby. Bobby convinces them that perhaps, since they are both alpha males and need to be in control, that their relationship could work if he were a part of it as he feels they need a buffer between them sometimes when both Mal and Jimi want to be in charge. They give it a try and let Bobby prove to them that love isn't always just 2 people, that sometimes it can be more. This book is a great story about dreams coming true and lost love being found again.I received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
The story is written from Bobby's viewpoint. Bobby is looking for a place to belong, a family he chooses, and maybe more. The beginning is heavy with atmosphere and brooding. Bobby is riding towards an unknown future as he heads to Phoenix, the bar home of Brothers of Chaos. Talking the talk and walking the walk, he finds himself desperate to impress Mal, head of recruits. But Mal seems determined not to accept Bobby. Then Jimi, Mal's ex, gives Bobby a trial to complete in order to join.Hot threesome action. Leather and sweat. Could have had more sexy action.Full disclosure, I received an ARC from the publisher and freely share my opinion.
I have to say this was not one of my favorite books by this author. Bobby’s reasons for joining the Brothers of Chaos MC seemed a little unrealistic since he has no experience with the lifestyle and I had some trouble believing why he thought joining the MC would solve his problems. I was also surprised that Bobby would agree to commit a crime after barely meeting MC members – I guess it was meant to show how badly he wants to join the M. And it was not realistic to me that two dominant MC members, Jimi and Mal, would accept Bobby into a menage less than twenty-four hours after he appears on the scene, and instantly solve their relationship problems. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief on this one.I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
