I use-to teach ... and this study guide is by far the best compilation (3 volumes) I've read and used. Anyone attempting to understand the Bible for what ever the reason will surely find the commentaries useful and accurate. The simplicity of the vernacular is impeccable. I have all three volumes which is an excellent addition to my library. I have painstakingly crossed reference and tested the comments ... they all came back five by five.

I was looking for a good bible study. I wanted something that would align with what I believe and just focus on the scriptures. This commentary is exactly that. Jon does a nice job breaking things down in an easy to understand format without focusing too much on his own opinion. My pastor even recommended this to me so I knew I could trust it. I LOVE this commentary!

I used this book as a commentary along with other commentarys when I prepared for a bible study and found it very useful. I've was also easy to get around, find the different books of the bible and the chapters of each book. Then Kindle asked me if I wanted updated, not thinking I said yes. Now I have trouble finding the index. Most of the time it will just give me the book and I have to page through to the chapter and verse. I don't think I will use this book as a commentary much because it is to hard to get around in it. To bad!

This is a great commentary. I use it in church as my Bible. The verses are there and practically every verse has a nice piece of information that makes the story come alive. Jon Courson's commentary enhances the word, without compromising the truth and the meaning of the word. It feels like playing classical music while looking at classical paintings. Jon Courson's commentary plants a beautiful array of flowers around God's garden of fruit to create an attractive fragrance that will nurture your relationship with the Lord.

I not only have a hard copy of Courson's commentary but bought it for my Kindle so I could always have it at hand. Some Commentaries are drawn out and hard to understand. Jon wrote easy to understand comments so anyone could say "I got it." I have 2 other commentaries and get bogged down with all the big words and long explanations. Jon's commentary is for people who do not have a PHD in Divinity. I can hardly wait for his OT to be available for my Kindle. Why did I buy Courson's Commentary? I have listened to his sermons on radio for years and enjoyed his teachings. I had faith that his commentary would be good.

Reading Pastor Jon Courson's explanation of the Old Testament, The Prophets, and the New Testament has given me a thirst for the Living Water that our Lord speaks. I can't wait for my reading time to arrive. If you are seeking to understand the prophets in light of todays world; are you seeking for the information regarding the DAY OF THE LORD - or the end time explained? Jon's comments reflect the current state of affairs in the middle east. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament come alive with his verse by verse comments and then; when this is an essential understanding that we the reader must grasp; Jon provides a mini sermon expanding how the word is used in both the Greek and in the Hebrew. I must say that this read is the clearest and most insightful help into understand the Word of God.

I enjoy Jon's style of writing. I sat under his teaching both at church and the radio ministry, and he always keeps you focused on Jesus. He uses numerous examples, both from text and personal experiences, to help clarify and understand certain passages. He articulates well and expresses a solid command of the English language. He knows the Word and sheds much light throughout the book. I do use it as my daily devotional, and have for many years, as well as a study resource for class. I would definitely recommend this commentary and have, for daily reading, or for an additional study resource.

I finished this and am now starting Mr. Courson's Old Testament study. This is a great commentary for both new and mature Christians. The plain spoken approach Mr. Courson uses in explaining scripture and applying it through his anecdotes is superb. I've learned a lot more about the Bible, its historical context, and what it means to follow my Lord Jesus. Amen!

Hee Hee! If you are a parent or anyone caring for children you will surely be able to identify with this story! This 'monster' does not want to get out of bed but when he does you had better beware! His poor mom takes him to Kindergarten and on the way he tells the neighbor how much he loves his flowers but is going to pull the petals off and put them up the neighbor's nose! Uh Oh! Like a typical mom, she loves her little boy regardless reassuring him that he is still loved no matter how he behaves. She soothes him and the end of the story definitely shows a different little boy from the previous day.Well written? Yes, for the most part. I did find the following:"With monster strength, I tug if free,...." It should read, "I tug it free..."Other thoughts.... Depending on your parenting style you may or may not like this book. Let me warn you that there are NO repercussions shown for the boy's bad behavior.WARNING: The Kindle version of this book is NOT suitable for all devices so please check the list above to make sure you are not disappointed. I downloaded this and read it on my Cloud Reader as it will not work on my Paperwhite. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz

I am very frustrated with this book. It is well-intended and might be good for a few children, but it is not what I wanted it to be and not appropriate for my 4 year old twins.This book is written for kids with extreme problems acting out. Kids whose only need right now is to deal with the shame they experience after they've calmed down.The message of the book is that Mom still sees the boy inside the monster and loves that boy even while the monster is acting out. To make this point, they make the boy/monster's behavior extreme and continuous for a whole day. I realize some kids go through day's like that, but it's the minority. It is certainly far beyond the 30-60 minute tantrums I get from my kids. The behavior in the book feels like it would give my kids additional, more destructive ideas about how to act out when they are mad and trying to upset other people.Yes, it is important to reduce the shame that kids feel about making mistakes. But teaching them they are still loved is only the first lesson for kids that act out like this. I was looking for a book that includes more than this. This book includes very little story telling about what to do after the monster is gone. No examples of being responsible for behavior, or cleaning up messes, or taking care of people that "the monster" might have hurt or upset. At the end of the story, the authors just have the boy interact with people he wronged as though nothing ever happened.Maybe some kids are so out-of-control that they need a book like this that is just focused on being loved and getting past the shame. I think the description of this book should be clearer about that target audience. Most kids are much smaller monsters than this, and most parents will be looking for a book that demonstrates taking responsibility after a tantrum is through.One final note -- As a single father, I am saddened by the complete focus on the MOTHER loving the boy. Dad is in the beginning and end of the story, but he is NEVER mentioned as seeing the boy, or loving the boy, or supporting the boy. It would've been so easy to include Dads as loving parents, too. Instead we get a weird, passive, by-stander for Dad.

I think this is a cute book and would be incredibly awesome for kids that have various emotional or other struggles, as it shows a kid that wakes up and is having a super bad day. Itâ€™s an inner â€œmonsterâ€ that he has trouble controlling...i.e., his bad behavior. Working with kids with various learning and emotional disabilities, I can see that this would be great for a kid who feels, at times, that they arenâ€™t always in control of them self.I didnâ€™t, for myself or my kids, like it as well. I really disliked the behavior this kid demonstrated and there was no point of consequence or even saying Iâ€™m sorry. Yes, itâ€™s a book, but for small kids books are great way of reinforcing lessons and I did t particularly agree with this being â€œlessonâ€ for mine.I thought it was nicely done.

This book is about a little boy who wakes up grumpy and does grumpy things until his mom comforts him. It's a sweet story to remind the little ones that it's okay to have bad days, and that we will love them no matter what! The illustrations are incredible and so vibrant! I also love how the book isn't too short, and that it rhymes. There's also coloring pages at the back. Very cute book!

My son is a little extra at times! Heâ€™s very funny and into mischief, but sometimes just down right difficult. We are gentle and peaceful parents, and try to have endless patience. This book is perfect for that sentiment. Dragonâ€™s grandmother takes care of him all day during the week, so I got this book for her for a holiday gift. I canâ€™t wait to give it to her. I took some liberties and hope the authors & illustrator donâ€™t mind, but I added in â€œgrandâ€ mother and colored her hair yellow to represent our familyâ€™s Grandma, instead of the brunette mom in the story. Anyway, itâ€™s such an uplifting story for a tired care giver, and Iâ€™m sure my child will learn a lot about empathy while following along with the read. Iâ€™m also buying a copy for a friend. Thanks for a truly beautiful book!
